Bakery


We do some gluten-free. We do some dairy-free. But mostly we do delicious.

Honestly, The Stick wasn’t supposed to be a bakery. But when we opened we couldn’t get what we wanted locally. So we bought an oven, put it behind the bar and got to it. Since then we have built a much more high-functioning kitchen in the back. Many of our recipes date back to our original baker, Debbie M. But every┬ábaker who has worked in our kitchen has played a role in developing our menu.

Muffins, cookies, squares and treats of all sorts, cheesecake, daily surprises, soups, wraps, sandwiches, the notorious Pets des Soeurs and what is probably Sooke’s most popular breakfast, The Egg-a-ma-jig all come from our kitchen.

We do some gluten-free. We do some dairy-free. But mostly we do delicious. Why compromise when food can be so good? We avoid GMOs. We use butter. We use organic milk. We use local, free range, organically-fed eggs. We use Sunflower and Olive oil.
